KIDS MORE AT RISK ONLINE THAN ALONE ON STREETS
Its <b>Child Safety Week</b> (23-29 June) and British parents think children are more at risk on the internet than unsupervised in a park or on the streets in daylight hours according to a <b>YouGov</b> poll. But while nearly all parents with children aged 6 to 16 warn their children not to talk to strangers if they pull up in a car or to walk alone at night, less than half have a protection package to monitor their children when using chat rooms and surfing the net.

Children's charity the NCH claims that more than a third of parents say that they don't monitor or control their child's online activities. The government's own Child Exploitation and Online Protection Center, meanwhile, says that a third of children have received unwanted sexual contact online or by text message.

Rebecca Fuchs has secured the UK distribution rights to award-winning parental control software, which was developed in America and alerts parents to untoward activity on the web.
